Fanniker IPA is a beer that celebrates the people who call the island of Fanø their home. It is a light and refreshing ipa that is brewed with rose hip skins (a plant also native to Fanø) along with Amarillo, Pacific Gem, and Simcoe hops.

Copenhagen 12/11 2018. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. Lady with visage obscured by headscarf on the label. Seems to be in violation of recent Danish laws.
Pours hazy orange with medium-sized, bubbly, white head. Settles as thin layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate Lacing.
Aroma is sweet and herbal with citric overtones. Sweet exotic fruit like peach and melon. Prominent notes of citrus and orange. Light herbal touch. May be the rose hips.
Medium strong carbonation. Thin, watery, lively, prickly texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by strong slightly harsh bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.
Not a bad IPA. Nicely bitter even though a bit harsh. A shared I could not quite pin down the rose hips.
