Collaboration with Ølsnedkeren.

Barrel Aged Imperial Brown Ale beer.

Hold Balancen is the spiritual follow-up to our brew Hold Dig Munter. We have collaborated with the Beer Carpenter to create this Imperial Brown Ale, which is barrel aged in Stauning Whiskey barrels – together we have brewed a beer with lots of sweetness and nutty notes, combined with smoky and vanilla-like undertones from the whiskey barrel, which gives the beer an extra dimension and depth.

Malt: Pale Ale, Munich, Abbey, Cara Terra, Cara Café, chocolate malt.

Hops: Waimea, East Kent Golding.

Copenhagen 22/1 2025. 50 cl bottle from The Beer Hive, Amagerbrogade, Kbh. S. Dark cream label with some weird circles and rectangles.

Pours clear, dark mahogany with a red hue. Sell off-white head- Disappears after half a minut leaving only thin rm of foam running along the side of the glass. No lacing.

Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet and sugary malty odor mingling with a sweet yet sharp boozy scent and a bit of sourish grains. Sweet camel and toffee. Toasted bread. Whiskey. Potent and rich.

Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, almost flat texture.

Flavor is intense with a strong sugary sweetness followed by a more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a sweet boozy undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry with a sweet touch.

Not exactly balanced with its heat and boozy sweetness. But nice enough to sip on a dark winter evening.
