Like the Danish trading colony on India's Coromandel coast that shares it's name, Trankebar is a unique combination of India and Denmark.
An intensely hop forward Vienna Lager. Trankebar offers the flavor and aroma of an IPA with a crisp easy drinking lager. Large amounts of Nelson Sauvin hops gives Trankebar complex fruit aromas, balanced with Vienna Malt.

Copenhagen 26/6 2017. 50 cl bottle from Meny. Photo of Fort Dansborg in Tranquebar on the label.
Extremely foamy upon opening leaving a substantial puddle in my kitchen. Pours hazy orange amber with big yellowish head. Settles as 1 cm thick layer of foam. Lacing all over the place.
Aroma is discrete and citric. Unripe gooseberries and lemon. A little acidic without being unpleasant. Kind of reminds me of an Lambic.
Medium strong carbonation and watery palate.
Flavor is lightly sweet followed by stronger bitterness with a sourish twist. Pretty light and refreshing. Aftertaste is sour and bitter. Lingering.
More one dimensional than the usual IPA. But a quite pleasant dimension.
