Copenhagen 6/5 2017. 50 cl bottle from Skjold Burne. Brown/golden label with an anchor, sea horses and some Corn Ears for good measure.
Pours hazy golden yellow - almost orange - with slightly bubbly white head. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of lumpy foam. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is of sweet malts with a nice touch of bitterness. Gives an almost salty freshness.
Medium strong carbonation and thin, watery, tingling texture.
Flavor is moderately intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a mild bitterness. Well balanced - but a bit on the sweet side.
Thin and a little bit boring.

Sample from bottle, tasted a bit too warm. A golden pilsener, somewhat better hopped in both aroma and flavor than most of its industrial counterparts - but given the high price, I am inclined to rather spend that money on some of Fanø’s ales.

Purchased from Plonk in Canberra. All the writing is in Danish, so I could only decipher the parts of it that are common across all Danish beer labels. This is a fair bit, to be honest.
Pours exceptionally dark for a "pilsnertype", more of a solid golden-amber hue, with solid haze. Head is fine and white, perhaps a little too effervescent, with lots of streaming carbonation. Pretty solid body. Not overly enamoured of the look: it's too dark, too cloudy, too effervescent.
Nose is slightly sweet and sherbetty, with a touch of fresh lemon rind in the mix. Under it is a pretty solid malt basis, giving a heavy richness that doesn't really work. It's not all that great, although the lemony aromas are pleasant.
Taste is clear, but quite empty. Some hint of that lemon or sherbet character, but it's lost as the palate gets bombarded with carbonation and it spins off to an anticlimactic soda finish. A hint of metal finishes it off, but it's empty and echoey. Feel is empty, and slightly prickled with that carbonation.
Overall, a very mediocre beer. It doesn't do anything particularly interesting. Unless this happens to be a particularly old bottle (which it could be—my date label had smudged off), I wouldn't recommend it to others.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
