Odense 20/7 2021. 50 cl bottle from Kvickly, Vestergade, Svendborg. Midtfyn’s usual design with a shield form this time with “WIT” where the “I” is substituted with a foaming glass of beer.
Pours unclear - almost hazy - golden yellow with a small white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet yet tart, lemonade-like odor. Oranges and a bit of white sugar. Citrus and hints of tart unripe berries. Light touch of fermentation.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, almost flat texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a more moderate tart sourness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a light tart undertone. Finish is semi-dry.
Quite sweet and could use some additional tartness. But very summer-like and straight forward.

Crackling white head leaves a creamy lacing, bubbly golden color is nearly clear. Chalky yeast meets spice with grain and earth in the nose. Creamy smooth, fluffy moderate body. Spice rides strong from start to finish and nearly goes a bit soapy in the middle. Thankfully a bit of maltiness and dry graininess try and match the level of spice. Alcohol chimes in with a light tropical fruit and quick warmth. Dry grainy and spicy finish.
Aggressive for this style, packed with flavor with the spicing trying to take over. A good stab at the style.
