Copenhagen 27/8 2018. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Kbh S. A very thirsty Reaper on the label digesting - of course - a Black IPA. Cute.
Pours clear, dark brown with a red hue. Medium-sized off-white head. Settles as thin, fine layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is strong, roasted and fruity. Solid backbone of roasted malts. Caramel, chocolate, roasted coffee. More subtle fruity notes. Light exotic fruit with stronger citric notes of Grape fruit.
Light carbonation. Thick, soft, oily texture.
Flavor is heavy sweet. Followed by distinct, medium bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with lighter citric notes. Lingering.
A lot of flavor hides the ABV. A bit on the sweet side - but delicious.

500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 9.0%. Nearly black colour, moderate beige head. Aroma of roast malts and piney and grapefruity American hops. The flavour is very well balanced between the malts and the hops, a slight sweetness but not too much, roasty notes with hints of coffee, dark chocolate and liquorice, followed by a distinct grapefruity and piney bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. Jolly good beer!
