This Imperial Stout is a strong and full-bodied beer, brewed with several roasted malt types. In this special version the beer has aged in rum casks for 24 months, to round off the taste and give the beer a stronger body.

Løkken 5/7 2023. 50 cl bottle from Kvickly, Østergade, Middelfart. Somber black label with silver letters and ornaments.
Pours opaque dark brown with a mid-sized beige head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin, flimsy layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is intense with a dark, hard roasted, malty odor mingling with sweet dark alcohol and an earthy scent. Burnt dark malts, toffee and coffee. Salty licorice. Dark rum.
Light carbonation. Rather thick, oily, viscous, soft, a bit sticky, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a boozy and searing streak. Lingering. Finish is dry and laden with alcohol and toffee.
Potent heavy barrel boozer with a hard roasted edge.
