Copenhagen 23/4 2026. 50 cl bottle from Beershoppen web-shop. An old drawing of the city Ribe on the label.

Pours clear dark amber with a mid-sized white head. Stable. Settles as a thin patch of foam. Clinging to the side of the glass. Moderate lacing.

Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet odor of malts and lightly fermented fruit. Sweet caramel and peach. Moldy gym-bag. Grapefruit and grains. Sharp.

Light carbonation Slightly thick, oily, a bit greasy, almost flat texture.

Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a quite strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. A little rough. Lingers for a while. Finish is rather dry.

I wonder if RIPA stands for Rough Indian Pale Ale.
