Notes via stream of consciousness: These toasted beers seem to be very popular in Spain. It’s poured a clear, deep amber/light brown body beneath a finger’s width of slightly off-white foam. The aroma is clean and suggests lightly sweetish and toasty, grainy malt with a swirl of delicately herbal hops. The flavor follows with more herbal hop character and a firm, balancing bitterness that brings it to a dry conclusion. The herbal hops linger shortly. The toasty malt and herbal hops are nice but at the same time it’s very one-sided. I understand that, it’s what it’s intended to be, and it’s something different than a standard Pilsner but it doesn’t go beyond that. In the mouth it’s medium bodied and smooth with a fine-bubbled, moderate carbonation. This costs more than quite a few of the toasted lagers on the market but the quality and refinement are worth it.

Shared 330 ml can at local tasting, as Amstel Oro Cerveza Tostada, bought in Tenerife. ABV is 6.2%. Amber colour, large white head. Sweetish malty aroma, notes of caramel and candy. Malty flavour, notes of caramel, very little hops.

Bought at a másymás supermarket in Langreo (Asturias, Spain). 330 ml can poured into a glass.

-Pours decent foam head. Tannish. Dark amber colour. Foam fades away quickly.
-Malty smell.
-Rough caramel taste.
-Alcoholic feel.

Typical dark lager sold in the Bars of Spain, being Voll Damm the main competitor. Good.
