Copenhagen 28/3 2020. 75 cl corked bottle which came in a cardboard box. From Meny, Østerfælledtorv, Kbh. Ø. Matte black bottle with golden bisonhead. Fourth annual installment in Skovlyst's Vintage Selection brand.
Pours clear amber with a medium-size, frothy white head. Settles as thin, flimsy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense, malty sweet and with subdued dry, bitter notes. Caramel and bread. Sweet cherries peeking in. Light odor of sharp citrus. Strong presence of alcohol.
Medium strong carbonation. Medium thick, smooth, soft lightly tingling texture. A little sticky.
Flavor is medium intense. Strong sweetness followed by a medium bitterness. A little harsh. Aftertaste is bitter with a sweet undercurrent. Lingers for a while. Dry and boozy finish.
More a very strong, quite sweet strong beer with a harsh bitter aftertaste than a Indian Pale Ale.
