Copenhagen 7/1 2017. 50 cl bottle from Bryggeri Skovlyst - the little brewery in the forest who seems pretty preoccupied with not being confused with the commercial brewery selling Skovlyst beer in the supermarkets. Very idyllic painting of the brewery in the forest. Kind of reminds me of propaganda art from the Soviet Era.
Pours hazy dark reddish brown with a big off-white head. Stable. Settles as a fat 1 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is not very strong and a bit dampened by the foam. Sweet caramel, old wood and a slightly bitter sharp note. But not unpleasantly so. Hints of smoke.
Soft carbonation and a medium thick palate. Gently tingling texture.
Flavor is only lightly sweet and dominated by a distinct sourness. Sour aftertaste with light sweet tones.
I would have expected that the honey would be more prominent. But then again, I guess I met a sour bear.
