Pours a faintly hazy straw-gold colour, with half a finger of head that quickly dissipates to a thin film leaving no lacing. The aroma is faint, though quite bready. An additional sharp hoppiness does come through here as well in a certain grassy tone, but it is subdued in comparison to the bready tones. On the palate, the beer is again quite bready and grainy, though with a certain grassy and herbaceous bitterness that is again subdued, and could be a touch stronger. The finish is crisp, with what flavours that do stick around being a good balance between gentle hops and a generous malt. Overall this is a fairly good lager, though I would not classify this as a German Pilsener - that issue could just as well reside with the submission made to this website not being accurate to the brewery's intention on style, but my judgement is the same no less.

500 ml bottle purchased from LCBO for $3,50 CDN. Served cold into a pint glass.

Appearance - bright slightly hazy golden color with a small thin white cap on top. Some bubbles are visible within.

Smell - grassy with a slightly sweet corn grain aroma. Grassy and also somewhat vegetative.

Taste - grassy again with a sweet malt backbone. A bit of a rough grain flavor lingers. Tasty enough but lacks the cleanness and crispness of other pilsners.

Mouthfeel - it's not terrible, but it's a bit limp from a lack of carbonation sand doesn't have the clean crisp finish that nearly all other pilsners have.

Overall - it's not a terrible pilsner, just missing the crispness that others have.

Appearance - Pours a straw gold color with one finger widths of foamy white head.

Smell - Bready malts, citrus, touch of saaz hops, some grains.

Taste - Not quite sure about this bottle but tastes a little off. Saaz hops are nonexistent, bit of a soapy flavor and then ends off with a sour aftertaste. Not sure what went wrong with this one.

Mouthfeel - Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall - A German Pilsner that was promising at the start with the aromas but poorly executed in the taste. Perhaps this is an off bottle but definitely need to go back to the drawing board with executing the flavor, particularly with getting the appropriate saaz hops and bready malts. Too bad!

Purchased at the LCBO for just over $3.00 for a 500ml bottle. Served at 4deg C in a draught glass

A- Opens well and pours a high white head. A bit cloudy

S- Almost no smell at all. What is there is malty and mellow

T- Light and mellow. Definitely a summer time beer. Good flavor and feels not like a mass produced beer but a decent craft effort

M- Light and airy. No bitterness at all. Definitely good for the sun.

O- Pretty good. Will not buy again but it is a nice summer beer but there are a lot of good beers out there a better price point

Food Pairing

This pretty good little beer went well with... grilled vegetables on the BBQ

Enjoy!
