375ml bottle from Brewdog.com (£10):
This one is a beer that's definitely showing some of its age but it does hold up better after three years than the last couple from this series that I've tried have, granted this one is a year younger than a couple of those were but it's still a drinkable beer & not quite as harsh or strong as the other. The beer has some sweetness showing from the initial cherry flavours as well as some chocolate & vanilla further on but it's the dark fruits that come through strongest & the beer is reminiscent of a port at times with some warming alcohol nearer the end. Pleasant stuff & certainly a good beer, I just wish I'd tried it a year or two ago to see how good it used to be.

A 375ml bottle from Love Wines, Jersey. Bottled on 12/12/14, bottle n° 8408/12100 ABV 11.8 It pours a dark brown almost black colour with a small beige head. Aromas of black coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, dark cherries, vanilla & alcohol. Tastes is moderate to heavy sweet with flavours of black coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, raisins, cherries, berries & fruits. The alcohol is present in the sweet dark coffee/chocolate/cherry finish. Overall a reasonable beer as a one off, to be treated more like a wine.

Pours opaque cola like beer with 1-finger tan head, so-so retention. Rich aroma - cola, caramel, kvass, figs, dates, berries.
Taste - chocolate, prunes. Chewy and uncommon beer for slow sipping.

On tap at BrewDog's Aberdeen pub.
Black body with a fine tan head.
Aroma: sweet, rich and enticing; perhaps even intoxicating.
Flavor: lightly sweet, rich. a major part of the flavor profile, but this is an extremely rich ale, with a huge load of malts and plenty of hops. Low level of burnt grain/char. Did I mention that this was really, really rich?
Medium-full body with near medium carbonation.
