Poured to a tulip.
A: The body is pitch black with a beige to white head, having a 2 fingers thickness.
S: This beer's aroma is very interesting. It has some kind of blend with a sweetness from coffee, toffee like products but it's not exactly that. The roastiness is not that strong but there's some flavour above the sweetness profile of this beer. Happily, in the end of the aroma, there's a giant hoppinness. So good.
T: The taste has clearly two interesting parts that don't blend together. There's a grassy, earthy touch to the beer coming from a weird location coffee and from the highly resinous hops. In the end, a generous hoppinness is present. The hops are not fruity at all, just earthy, grassy and tons of resin.
M: Body is medium. Carbonation is high. Alcohol is unnoticed. Bitterness is high.
O: Not the best black IPA I've had, the flavours don't blend together in any sense. But it's interesting.

A 330ml can with a BB of May 2017. Purchased some time back from the Brewdog webshop. Another variation on Jack Hammer, this time in the form of a black IPA.
A: Poured into a Duvel tulip. A very deep reddish-brown hue that appears virtually black in the glass. Good carbonation. Produces a vast head of creamy pale brown foam; this lasts for a few minutes before settling as a surface layer. Nice lacing.
S: Aroma of intense hops with notes of grapefruit, peel, citrus, light tropical fruit, mild pine resin, subtle caramel malt and ale yeast. Overwhelms the senses - very nice.
T: Tastes of powerful aromatic hops with notes of grapefruit, citrus, pine, caramel malt, ale yeast and a warming hint of booze in the background. A strident hop-driven bitterness upon swallowing, with a lurking hint of acidity. Tasty.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry - hop oils tickle the palate. Relatively soft carbonation. Decent body but could be thicker. Aftertaste of exceptionally bitter, fruity hops.
O: Great; another sterling effort from Brewdog. Looks lovely, while the aroma and flavour are stuffed with juicy, piny hops underpinned by subtle malt and yeast. Good body. This definitely falls at the 'lighter' end of the black IPA spectrum - there's no intense malt or stout character to it. Nonetheless, a hop-lover's delight. Well worth sampling if you have the chance.

Nice reddish brown colour with a pleasant medium head and fairly ammount of carbonation.
Hoppy aroma with some spices in.
Really good taste, similar to a hoppy IPA, with grapefruit, citrus, some roasted grains, oak barrell ageing feel and dank herbal aftertaste.
A very good one, different than the standard coffee dominated black IPA.

Black color with foamy, tan head. Aroma is huge. Lots of hops with dank, resinous flavors and grapefruit, orange and pomelo on top. Just a hint of dark maltiness. Taste also starts really hoppy with dank and resiny flavors. Also earthy and grassy, finishing with medium bitterness and lingering grapefruit flavor. Also some roasted malt character on the finish. Medium with smooth carbonation. I really this one and in general this style of black IPA. It's really hoppy, it has some roasted malt to make the taste more complex and rich and it has a really nice mouthfeel.
