Tropic Thunder is the winner of HomeBrewDog; the brainchild of Tom Doyle, this beer was the highest rated of the 307 beers that were tasted.
Tropic Thunder packs cocoa powder and fresh espresso on the nose, followed by a dry and roasty overload – bitter chocolate, toast crust, and burnt toffee with a light charred note and a finish softened by bittersweet orange peel.

330ml bottle from Tesco, Glasgow (£2.19):
Excellent stuff here from Brewdog, well sort of since it was a homebrew winner after all. The beer is a very pleasant one with a good amount of dark malts & chocolate flavours working well with the light fruits & zesty flavours from the orange & imparted a subtle sweetness in the process. There is nice complexity to the beer & it proved quite an easy one to drink, the malts doing there part to completely mask the alcohol content of this one & a moderate bitterness seen things out nicely as well; a very enjoyable beer & one that I wouldn't mind having again at some point.
