A 330ml bottle with a BB of Feb 2018, so it's just out of date. Acquired a while back from the Brewdog webshop. The label calls it a blonde ale; hopped with Mittelfrüh and Perle.
A: Poured into a tulip. A bright golden hue with good carbonation and some faint floating sediment. Produces a decent head of creamy white foam that lasts for a minute or two before subsiding and dissipating.
S: Aroma of grainy malt with hints of mild barley, subtle bread, ale yeast, faint stewed husks/leaves and a twinge of cardboard in the background. Uninspired - surprisingly bland for Brewdog.
T: Tastes of light, grainy malt with notes of barley, mild bread, ale yeast, subtle stewed hops, husks and faint cardboard. Slighty sweet, followed by a subdued bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and a somewhat insubstantial body. Mildly astringent. Aftertaste of grainy malt, ale yeast and subtle stewed leaves.
O: Possibly the dullest Brewdog beer I've ever tried. Looks OK, though a shame about the head retention. Aroma and flavour are grainy and insipid. So-so body. Drinkable but makes no sensory impact. I can see why this prototype didn't get taken forward.
