A 330ml bottle with a BB of Nov 2017, so it's rather out of date. Purchased a while back from the Brewdog webshop. A rye-based gamble.
A: Poured into a tulip. A rich orange-amber colour with faint haze and good carbonation. Produces a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before settling as a persistent surface layer. Slight lacing.
S: Aroma of vague fruitiness with hints of caramel malt, mild spicy rye, barley sugar, oranges, subtle pine resin, faint herbs and ale yeast. Distinct overtones of oxidation. Kinda meh.
T: Tastes of caramel malt with notes of spicy rye, barley sugar, mild pine resin, vague weed, a hint of citrus peel, ale yeast and stewed leaves/husks. A twang of oxidation in the background. Slightly sweet, followed by a modest bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with spritzy carbonation and good body. Mildly astringent. Aftertaste of caramel malt, mild rye, faint pine, ale yeast, stewed leaves and oxidation.
O: OK, so this one was past its best. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour are a stale blend of caramel malt, rye, piny hops and ale yeast. Decent body. Probably better when it was fresh, so this one's on me.
