Half pint on tap from Brewdog Doghouse, Glasgow (£4.36):
Jet black with a fine foamy lacing that is beige in colour & left on the sides of the glass too; the beer itself was quite still though. The nose was a sharp one with some sweetness & cherries coming through in the early going with a touch of chocolate that made for a pleasant aroma without being to boozy. The taste was a little stronger with more alcohol showing too, I got some vanilla & chocolate with a few hints of caramel coming through alongside hints of fudge & the expected sugars further on. Overall the beer was easy enough to drink with a smooth, softly carbonated feel but it did have quite a warming & boozy feel to it that wasn’t the best in truth.

12oz bottle. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It smelled of chocolate, toffee and roasted malt. Sweet chocolate, toffee and a touch of coffee taste.
