New England to the power of two. This juggernaut of a double IPA weighs in a 9.5%, delivering a payload of big fruit with mango and peach front and center. Milk sugar builds and rounds out the truly juicy notes. Pulp Patriot - swear allegiance.

Pours a hazy orange with a 1.5" white head, which lasts. Heavy lacing.

Aroma is blueberry, floral, caramel.

Taste is blueberry, caramel, citrus, lactose.

Medium body, lively carbonation. Semisweet finish.

Nice take on an IPA. Sweeter than usual for the style.

To call this a New England IPA is to call Mardi Gras a party. You know what I mean? This is a big, malty mess of stuff, that ends up way clearer than most New England IPA's. It's in a whole different realm.

It pours dark, dirty orange with very little head. You know right away that this is not one of the usual pack. The aroma give further evidence, with a fruit dominance and more warnings that this is not the usual stuff (but not a booze smell). The taste is very fruity, but with enough strong malt tastes to cut through. With so much going on it is a wonder that it is not all thick and cloudy (is it all in the bottom of the can? Maybe I should pour it out).
Nope, no sediment.

The aftertaste is pretty big, but still fruity. The alcohol never really surfaces but everything else does, just with fruit out front.

Highly recommended. Besides being nice and tasty and interesting, it is popularly priced. We are very fortunate they are making such great brews nearby.

6 pack copped from Springfield, NJ. Pours a golden, full-bodied hue with a hefty amount of carbonation that held and lingered, hovering around the cusp of the glass like a pitbull ready to pounce. Ardent aroma replete with notes of cotton candy and turbado sugar. Similar overall flavor profile. Excellent stuff.

Poured into grip shaped goblet: color is orange, slight hze, head is off white with fine bubbles and some lacing, lingering top.

Smell is fruity mashup of peach, orange, grapefruit, and light pineapple, some sweetness from the lingering lactose and hint of booziness.

Taste is similar with a blender full of fruit with notes of peach, orange, grapefruit, pineapple, some lactose like flavor and even a twinge of creaminess to the way it presents, some booze burn on the finish.

Mouthfeel is low/moderate carbonation, moderate bitterness, and some lingering sweetness with drying finish.

Overall this is a spin on substyle that is good but seems more toward a sweet DIPA with some lactose in terms of actual style.

Poured from the can into a glass, with only a small white head developing. First sniff was floral, fruity, nice. First sip was intriguing. The small head stayed in place for the duration, and was a distinctly different flavor- and mouthfeel- than the beer. So there was a hit of creamy froth, followed by the fruity sweet-turning-bitter of the IPA itself. I confess i was bemused when I first saw the can, but now I completely understand why it's called a "milkshake IPA." I will also say that drinking it did not feel like I was consuming something with 9.5% ABV. Buuuuut, now it's a half hour later and yep, I can tell I did get that much alcohol.

This is a surprise and a winner for me. Will definitely drink more of it happily!

This is an excellent beer. The slightly creamy feel is welcome, as is the dry finish. The large dose of juicy citrus and mango makes for pitch-perfect NEIPA taste. The well-hidden alcohol is dangerous but just be careful. It may have a low IBU number but there’s still some solid hop bite to it. ... people may generally prefer standard double IPAs to milkshake ipas, but one of these bad boys is a meal - so it’s hard to beat, for me. At 2 bucks a can, it is one of the better values I’ve found in Ohio.

Pushing the limits of IPA to the fruity, creamy, richer side of hops, BrewDog takes the hazy New England styled IPA to a whole new place. They're hoping that their milkshake brings all the hop heads to the bar.

Rich and pastel gold, the creamy pour of Pulp Patriot has their milkshake IPA floating a dense blanket of foam. A host of tropical fruit punch aromas flood the nose with a bevy of tropical, citrus, orchard and stone fruit along with a creamier, sweeter perfume. To taste, the early palate is rife with cereal, honey, poundcake and agave as a sweeter tone is taken early on the tongue.

As the ale splashes onto the middle palate, the fruit flavors really open up with a culmination of mango, orange, lime, pineapple, peach, pawpaw and grapefruit swirl with a nearly tangy succulence of sherbet. Vanilla, sweet cream and with the consistency of cream candy, any bitterness is softened to an herbal balance of green tea, juniper spice and a botanical character of lemon verbena and sassafras.

Full bodied and creamy throughout, the imperial status IPA thwarts any suggestion of being a bitter IPA. But that doesn't mean that the beer isn't hoppy; its bold fruity hop impressions linger deep into the finish with the taste of mulled fruit peels and a slightly bitter creamsicle.
