Copenhagen 27/12 2019. 33 cl can from Meny, Vermlandsgade, Kbh. S. As "BrewDog Texas Chilli Hoppy Brown Ale". Quite strange can. Text heavy. Seems to be an advertisement for some kind of BrewDog loyalty program telling me I will get a birthday beer and a discount. I simply can’t wait.
Pours clear dark brown with a red hue. Medium-sized white head. Settles as thin but frothy layer of foam. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium-intense, sweet, nutty and malty. Brown sugar, hazel nut, caramel, toffee. Light odor of leather. Very light chili odor.
Medium carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly sweet followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet-ish. Lingers for a while. Finish has a distinct chili bitter and a little warmth.
A nice combination of sweetness and chili.
