Redder than the red planet. Aromas of citric, malic and lactic acidity. Juiced to the outer limits with funky barnyard undertones. Lightly dry on the palate with a crisp, refreshing finale.

375ml bottle poured into a snifter
Pours bright red in color with some pink hues. Smells of Smells of raspberries, lemon peel, red apples, dried hay, cracked pepper, slightly grassy with undertones of lacto funk and oak. Taste is juicy with berries up front, along with lemon zest, red grapes, some barnyard funk, hay, a hint of oak and more berries on the finish. Medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel and a tart finish

375 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 7/17/2019. Pours slightly hazy ruby reddish orange color with a small fairly dense and fluffy light pink head with poor retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing on the glass, some streaming carbonation and clinging bubbles on the glass. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy raspberry, blackberry, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, peach, plum, pear, apricot, red/green apple, red grape/wine, currant, oak, peppercorn, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light leathery/musty Brett/Lacto funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/spicy/acidic yeast, boysenberry, oak, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big juicy/tart/tangy raspberry, blackberry, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, peach, plum, pear, apricot, red/green apple, red grape/wine, currant, oak, peppercorn, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light leathery/musty Brett/Lacto funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy raspberry, blackberry, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, peach, plum, pear, apricot, red/green apple, red grape/wine, currant, oak, peppercorn, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light leathery/musty Brett/Lacto funk, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy/acidic yeast, boysenberry, oak, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tart/tangy/spiciness balance; and no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering tang/tart/spiciness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/acidic/tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol for 6%. Overall this is an outstanding fruited wile ale. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy/acidic yeast, boysenberry, oak, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/clean/refreshing to drink with the mellowly acidic/tangy/drying finish; not overly lactic/tannic. Fantastic balanced nicely jammy berries, Brett/bacteria complexity and oak foeder presence; with a clean pale.wheat malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example. Really surprised me.

375 ml bottle, BrewDog Overworks USA brewed. No dating listed on the label but I'm pretty sure I've had this for 3 or 4 months. Served in an Overworks chalice, the beer pours a reddish/amber color with about an inch off-white head. Head retention is decent, and there's a small amount of lacing. The brew smells like boysenberry, dark fruit, bready malt, funk and oak. I think the taste is similar to the aroma, with boysenberry, bready malt, oak, funk, citrus peel and red grape flavors. It's tart and fruity, although I wish the tartness was kicked up some more. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's a bit coating and has a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good enough overall brew, certainly worth trying if you get a chance to.
