From the can, it pours a clear brown color with a modest head that soon reduces to nothing. The nose gets coffee and some malt. The mouth gets a lightly watery lightly bitter coffee flavor with a modest aftertaste.

APPEARANCE: Opaque black with a nice khaki head and slight lace.
NOSE: Coffee up front, roasty stout goodness.
TASTE: More roasty coffee, very light in body. Solid coffee stout flavor in a very light “near beer” experience. Decent twist on non-alcoholic beer.

Brew Dog Wake Up Call coffee stout... Pairs perfect with a certain St. Patrick's Day meal you may have heard of.

Canned 2020/10/15
Pours a fizzy 1 finger brown head with lower retention, disappears fairly quickly almost like soda, no lacing, very dark almost black color
Nose is a mix, there is some nice coffee, fresh roasted coffee with a little nutty undertone, but also this weird stale cracker and slight metallic thing, a bit of caramel and fair nutty aromas, a little fruity note
Taste has more of a vegetal corn-straw malt thing going on which reminds me of sorghum or other gluten free beers, there's coffee, some roasted coffee with a bit of a bite, a little caramel and roasted malt flavors, bitter roast and a touch of a spicy hop bite, some acidity, dry finish with bitter slight astringent notes
Mouth is lighter bod, watery, carb is strange because it feels like low carbonation but then when it moves in my mouth a ton of foam comes out, a bit astringent
Overall this was weird and messy beer that I was not a fan of, even for alcohol free beer

Decanted from a 12 oz (355 ml) can into an Other Half snifter glass; canned 07/01/20.
A: Pours essentially black with a one to two finger, tan head that clears to a rim and spotty lacing.
S: Aromas of coffee, plum, and chocolate predominate.
T: Dry. Flavors follow the nose with more of a cola note. Bitterness very balanced.
F: Light bodied with moderate carbonation.
O: Very flavorful; reminds me of a Schwarzbier. Can definitely see than advantages and contexts where this would make sense.

L - 1.5 finger hazelnut head slowly recedes, leaving no lacing. Cola black body. Looks convincing.
S - caramel, coffee ice cream, chocolate. I dig it.
T - tastes like a gas station cold brew after the ice has all melted. Roast, bittersweet drugstore chocolate, powdered creamer, with a spritz of sweet n low. Moderate-low bitterness. Low sweetness.
F - medium-light body with low carb.
O - this is different from all of the other na’s I’ve had. I prefer the Athletic coffee stout, but this has its own qualities. It really tastes more like a cold brew coffee as opposed to a beer, since it has no wort taste at all. Still, I’m enjoying it more than I expected, and this is better than the Brewdog ipas I’ve tried. Recommended.

Pours opaque, jet black in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is dark roast coffee, toasted malt, and cola. Medium bodied, sweet, with moderate carbonation. I am not a coffee drinker. That said this is one of the better low abv coffee beers I have had. I can taste real stout underneath the coffee base and that is impressive. Not an everyday beer but I would get this again. Very well crafted and enjoyable to drink.

Can. Deep brown colour. Thick, dense tan head.
Initial aroma of chocolate followed by spent coffee grounds and ashtray.
Tastes similar. Sweet at the start. Burnt bitter finish. Coffee milk shake.
Thin feel. Rather tacky.
The caffeine worked quite well.
