Decanted from a 12 oz (355 ml) can into a snifter glass; canned 07/23/20.
A: Pours a very hazy, basically ombré pattern, ranging from pink grapefruit to a medium violet color down the glass, with brief, two finger, pink chiffon head. Not a lot of head retention and no obvious lacing.
S: Tart side of tangy. Aromas of black currant, guava, Concordia grape, and cane sugar with a barley note at points.
T: Sweet with flavors of black currant, cranberry, pomegranate, Concordia grape, and cane sugar. I would swear I was sucking on a black currant Jolly Rancher. Bitterness far in the background, if present.
M: Medium bodied with low carbonation. Crisp finish, consistent with that subtle Concordia grape astringency.
O: This is an amazing black currant IPA. If this were readily and locally available, I would buy it by the case and drink/serve it at breakfast (on the week-end) as an alternative to Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen. Just gorgeous.
