A clear glass liter mug has been filled by the contents of one pint can and partial contribution from another. The color is a hazy, but not murky, rich orange-amber. Good floral hop aroma fills the vicinity. A solid slightly off-white head endures. There is a strange component to its taste, fruity, perhaps peachlike. Unfortunately, it really doesn't go well with the nicely hopped bitterness. There's enough malt to provide a nice backbone and the hoppy bite at the finish is quite welcome. There's a bit of a reminder that this brings a 9.5 % ABV, but it's not a negative. That one big negative is the misplaced peachy flavor that is so pronounced, there's no way it could be obtained by an ingenious combination of hops, malt and yeast. After the senses figure out what's going on, even the aroma becomes spoiled by it. This can only be for those that like peach flavored double IPAs and the bet here is there won't be many of them. Other than that, the mouthfeel is fine and there's some glass lacing, but at this point, it doesn't matter. This fails.
