Vanilla Oatmeal Milk Stout
Decadent to the core and loaded with heaps of oatmeal, this beer delivers a red carpet of silky opulence. Overflowing with notes of bitter cacao, roasted coffee and dark berry fruits, it plunges you into the deep, dark, abyss.

You hear the activation when you pop the can. Feel and bubbles typical of nitro. It's fairly bold, with roasted and burnt flavors being real forward. Not very sweet, just a little gets thru. Has a touch of vanilla at the end. It's pretty good but won't make the top 250.

A step above Guinness Draught but below Left Hand Nitro. Granted, it's winter, so it's dry in the house and I'm routinely dehydrated. But I drank this really quickly while watching a movie; frighteningly so, given that it's 6%. That said, drinkability sacrifices a lot of nuance. Could do with being more of a stout.
For the record, I'm a huge fan of the BrewDog winter variety pack because it's 12 different beers. More breweries should do this, instead of offering three or six of a perennial that I already don't care for.

Normally I wouldn't review a beer of this age, but I ordered this direct from the brewery and if they think it's OK to ship out nearly year old beer then I think its OK to leave a shitty review.
It looks pretty anyway - rather like Guinness- thanks to the nitro widget. Impossibly creamy head. Smells muted; vaguely medicinal. Sort of like cherry cough syrup. Its an off note. No real roastiness or anything you would normally associate with a stout. Fares better on the tongue, but it doesn't exactly wow me or anything. Mild fruity breakfast coffee notes. I'm not picking up any vanilla. Ultimately tastes fine, but lacking in complexity. Mouthfeel is thin, but reasonably soft and creamy thanks, again, to the nitro widget. Kind of a "meh" beer that would be rendered utterly mediocre without the gimmick.

I got a can of this beer from a mixed Christmas 2021 holiday 24pck that my wife got me. It poured an opaque dark with tan head that is leaving some lace. The scent had vanilla extract hints. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with vanilla bean presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had velvet carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

12oz nitro can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with huge, foamy, pillowy, off-white head. It left sudsy sheets of lace down the glass. It smelled of vanilla, chocolate, toffee and caramel. Nice vanilla taste with chocolate, caramel and toffee sweetness.

From the can in the 2021 and 2023 BrewDog Advent Calendar, it lusciously pours a cascading brown which eventually rises to a nice brown head over a black brew. The nose gets vanialla and lots of it, along with the usual black malts. The mouth revels in the smooth feeling brew with a soft vanilla laced stout flavor. Yum!
