Brewdog stouts are most of their best products. This one is not one of my favorites.
It pours beautiful, with big head. The aroma is fairly funky for a stout. A strange sweet smell. The taste also has an odd tinge of marshmallow gone bad. It finishes with more or the cocoa and marshmallow lingering. It is a bit thin as well.
Not recommended. Get a Tentacle or Joan Jett (I mean Black Heart) instead.

My beer store, Saveon, finally got their license back after moving. They were out of business for 4 or 5 months due to Ohio state government incompetence. Anyway, I bought a bunch of great fresh IPAs but also a very stale one of these - 12-20-2021. It's not bad. I guess I did my part to help him sell his old inventory. Welcome back, Wally, we missed you. Saveon is the best beer store in central Lake County Ohio.

Poured a one-finger frothy stout head, depending on the size of your finger with a coffee stout color. Ring lacing.
The aroma was cherry coffee. Very nice flavor following the cherry coffee notes with vanilla brought to the fore. And marshmallow. Medium-thin mouthfeel, not quite creamy but good on the palate. Finished sweet and slightly roasty.
Born: 12/20/21. Enjoyed: 02/17/22. This Brew Dog led a good life.

There was once a time when things like marshmallow and cocoa in a beer meant a nuanced and background complement to the base stout that would have kept its roasty ale flavors front and center. Those additions wouldn't batter the palate with cake batter, but would remains somber and understated. This BrewDog stout is one of those.
Onyx-like and cast in a mirror-like sheen, the shiny black Twin Town builds a creamy, mid-leveled blanket of ivory froth while soothing the senses with aromas of coffee, cocoa, cream, vanilla and an overall latte-like combination. Early sweetness is of sweet cream, caramel, sorghum, dark chocolate and an overall dry nougat flavor.
As the sweetness breaks apart on the middle palate, the more arid roast of the beer lightens the palate and highlights the beer's roastier, toastier elements. With slight elements of smoky chocolate, light ash and campfire, the beer's light demeanor means that the cocoa and marshmallow flavors would be downplayed and the stout roast shines. Bitter with cocoa, coffee and ash, the finish is dry with burnt woods.
Medium-full but trending dry and nearly refreshing, the twin of a beer is a throwback to beers of a couple decades ago, along with newer aspects of burnt cream. It finishes dryly roasty with a long aftertaste of roasted grain and burnt cream better still.

Pint in Brewdog Soho (£5.70):
Dark coffee brown to black with a 1cm, creamy head that's light beige & holds great. The nose is creamy with coffee, a chocolate sweetness & hints of vanilla, it's definitely quite sweet. Coffee flavours & a subtle bitterness are strongest with the taste, its creamy still with a dark malt bass & lots of milk chocolate. Smooth, full bodied & lightly carbonated with a clean feel & some earthy bitterness to finish; better than I expected & a pleasant surprise - I'd like to see a stronger version of this at some point.
