Hazy Jane Mango

Pours out of the can a tan-gold color with a finger of head that dissipates quickly. Smells like papaya and mango. Taste follows suit but not quite as appealing as the nose. A good beer though no doubt.

 

 

Hazy light amber with a 1/4" white head, which slowly fades. Moderate carbonation.

Aroma of strong mango.

Taste is mango, papaya.

Medium body, light carbonation. Dry finish.

Very good. A lot of mango flavor.

Leah says the smell of this one is too metallic. Very slight sweetness from malt and a very light hint of mango.

The taste is light sweetness from the mango and a lingering malt. High average twist on Hazy Jane!

 

I got a can of this beer from a mixed Christmas 2021 holiday 24pck that my wife got me. It poured a slightly hazy golden with thin white ring head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had grapefruit and mango medley notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright tropical fruit notes . The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

APPEARANCE: Pours a hazy amber, with full-size head of fine off-white suds.

NOSE: Juicy hops, mango on the top of the usual tropical aromas.

TASTE: Juicy hops, smooth with no bite. Follows up with mango up front, and this is another easy-drinking and solid twist on the hazy IPA style.

 

 

The BrewDog Advent Calendar Apocalypse day 23
It's almost over. Mankind has gotten what they deserved, and me too. Brains, brains. As Matheson was trying to tell us, zombies will inherit the earth. The BrewDog Advent calendar did not prevent the zombie infection, but it made the onset BRAINS a little easier. I was pretty good about keeping up but I missed a few. Civilization is screwed anyway.

This one opens to a color that exactly matched the mango part of the can. That was cool. Nice lacing and deep color. The aroma is the usual skunky plus that little bit of mango weirdness. That's where the taste is too - a little bit of fruity weirdness on top of a very OK hazy IPA. It's a style that is hard to mess up but BrewDog seems to be trying very hard.

Recommended. It survived the apocalypse and sitting in the Advent calendar for a couple months and it's still pretty good, but I wish I had had better anti-zombie defenses! It really pairs well with brains!

 

A little mellower than some of the other Hazy Janes. I enjoyed the difference.

From the can in the 2021 BrewDog Advent Calendar, it pours a slightly hazy light amber color with a modest white head. The nose gets a dose of fruit, probably mango, over malt. The mouth gets a light mango flavored malt beverage that is easy drinking and enjoyable.
