From a can, this beer has a completely black appearance. The head is thick and tan, leaving a firm and lasting lace. The aroma has a distinctly tropical, coconut flavor. I remarked to my wife that the beer ‘Smells like summer.’ The taste is balanced, with lots of roasted grain flavor, backed with the coconut. I get a lot of chocolate notes as well. The body is full, luxurious, and satisfying. This one is very nice.

12 ounce can, enjoy by 1/31/23 stamped on the bottom of the can, BrewDog USA brewed version. Thanks to my friend Denis for this one! Served in a Spiegelau stout glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch and a half tan head that stayed around for a little while. There's also a good amount of lacing. I like the aroma, I think the coconut dominates but there's also some vanilla, roasted malt and cola noticeable. I think the taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there's also the addition of some coffee and dark bready flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth and slick with a moderate amount of carbonation. Thought this was a good overall brew, worth trying especially if you're into coconut stouts!

12oz can as part of the mixed Christmas 12 pack. 8.5% ABV, no specs or ingredients on the can or website.

Pours out to a deep inky black with nice viscosity, forming a modest dark brown head with good retention and lacing. Carbonation is moderate, ~2.5 carbs. At arms length, I am immediately hit with pink bubblegum. With a closer nose, coffee, vanilla, black walnut comes in. I can not pick up coconut at all. Smells nice. 1st sip.....Ah....there's the coconut. Mouthfeel is thick and chewy with a full, dense and slick body. Really nice mouthfeel. Tartness is often a problem for me with stouts if the brewers use too many dark malts without correcting the pH. Thankfully this one is a bit tart, but not too tart. The taste starts with coffee, then a nice wave of coconut, followed by black walnut, vanilla, then a little soy sauce. The coffee sit nicely...not charred or acrid. In the middle the hop bitterness settles in, and although good, for my tastes is a bit much. It's intensely herbal...I'm thinking Chinook, Magnum, or Colombus here. A little black pepper toward the finish, but the aftertaste has a nice lingering coffee note.

Overall, a solid beer. Worth trying. I'd buy it again.

I got a can of this beer from the brewery 2022 beer advent calendar pack. It poured an opaque dark with tan head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had subtle coconut and dark chocolate notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with mounds flavor presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

12 FL OZ. can
Served in a snifter

This beer pours black and is topped with a small mocha head that leaves spotty lacing.

I get chocolate and hints of coconut. The coconut opens up more as it warms.

I taste cocoa. Not much coconut.

Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel

Not too impressive
