orange stout with natural flavor. 8.5% ABV per the can. Part of a mixed 12 pack. Pours to a nearly black. Very inky and deep, forming a modest dark tan head with good retention and lacing. The nose is really nice....definitely orange right up front then prune juice, soy sauce, black walnuts, dark chocolate and a little smoke in there too. The mouthfeel is smooth, silky and chewy, dense body. The taste is a recap of the nose...all those notes are there, then in the finish there is a moderate woodsy bitterness which sits fairly well with the rest of the flavors. A little chalk in the aftertaste. No perceptible off flavors or aromas.

I wasn't sure if I was going to like this because I don't like the mixture of orange and chocolate, but this works pretty well. I think it would be a bit better with maybe 10 less IBUs. A nice beer. I can't say I've ever had an orange stout before, but this is my first and it's a winner.

An orange stout....this one lives up to its name. It's a black beer with a frothy tan head. The aroma is a mix of dark chocolate and orange peel. The taste has solid bitterness, a little roasted notes, chocolate (again), and more orange peel. It's not like fresh squeezed orange juice, but rather like the rind of an orange. Flavorful and enjoyable. The body is full and soft. Nice.

12 FL OZ. can
Served in a snifter

This beer pours black and is topped with an inch of tan head that leaves spotty lacing.

It has a nice chocolate orange aroma with some roasted malt. Lots of orange though

Orange forward. It kind of overwhelms the chocolate which is there but in the background. I get some orange pith as well which adds a slight bitterness.

Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel

Pretty orangey. I didn't mind it.

I got a can of this beer from the brewery's 2022 beer advent calendar pack. It poured an opaque dark with very thin ecru ring head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had dark chocolate and subtle orange notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with dark chocolate malt subtle roast and hint of tangerine. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.
