Brewdog's latest beer, released at PivnĂ in York (one of the city's best beer bars). Described as a blonde lager ale, created with lager malt and 100% citra hops. I believe it will only be available from select pubs belonging to the same company.
Served from a handpump into a straight Brewdog pint glass. A slightly hazy golden hue with very light carbonation. Produces a thick white head of foam that remains for a few minutes before subsiding. A distinctive aroma of tropical fruits and citrus - the hops pretty much overwhelm any maltiness that might be present. Sweet and fruity, very nice. (Some of my friends were asking what fruit had been added to the beer :)
Tastes of plentiful aromatic hops with a light malt backbone. Floods your tastebuds with notes of citrus and sweet tropical fruits. Mildly bitter finish. Mouthfeel is smooth and faintly astringent, with an aromatic hoppy aftertaste.
Nicely crafted and very drinkable. Stacks of aroma and flavour prevent boredom from setting in. My only complaint is that it could have a more pronounced bitterness to match the aromatic sweetness of the hops, but this is a very minor point. Well worth trying if you find it available.
