Gifted to me by co-worker... Standard pour yields no discernible head, rather just the slightest dark khaki collar... Color is a jet black that lets a bit of light leak through... Some stray carbonation bubbles can be seen towards the top of the glass... Nose presents lots of deep woody notes... Some dark fruit... Vanilla... Not overpowering but loads of depth and complexity... Much sweeter on the palate... Almost tastes like an overly sweet cinnamon bun... I think I may be getting a sugar high... Deeper on the palate are notes smoke and wood... Tons of complexity with each sip... Sleek and exceedingly smooth... On the fuller side of medium bodied... Sticky and slightly chewy... Very nice beer... The high ABV is well hidden... I'm a big fan...
