brewed at the vegas location, which is cool. not sure if this is technically a hoppy blonde or a hoppy lager, but untappd has it as an italian pils, which i guess in retrospect could also be right, i was intrigued not because of the base style but because it was made there, they had less than a half dozen in house brews when we hit it up. sunny yellow beer, close to clear, average white head on it, looks good but unremarkable. it smells a little bitter, some dried floral character to the hops, an almost noble aspect, peony, preserved lemon, grass, very light grain base, not really very european to me, and then a pretty tidy and minimal lager yeast as well, off dry, not quite as crisp as the best lagers like this, so it almost reads blonde ale to me off the hop, but there is more snappy character in the flavor and i like the way it comes together, a tad bready now from grain and yeast but still more domestic and neutral than anything else. the hops have subtle lime leaf, green tea, and generic citrus, there is also a little white sugar thing in the center of this that heavies it slightly and makes it moderately less drinkable and refreshing, but the bubbles are nice, its mighty flavorful, and it still works just fine in a warm weather context. not my favorite of the beers we had here, could be refined a little better, crisped up to accentuate the lager properties if that is what in fact this is, but overall an easy and appealing brew that certainly quenched my thirst after a long day!
