A 7.1% black IPA brewed by our shareholders. Boasting 80 IBUs, we double dry hopped the beer with mountains of Amarillo, Columbus, Chinook, Cascade and Centennial hops. After dry hopping we wanted to add a little more depth and another layer of complexity to the beer so we aged it on toasted oak chips for a further 2 weeks.

June 2012: Shared bottle at local tasting, thanks to Odland. Black colour, moderate beige head. Strong aroma of American hops with notes of resin and grapefruit, but also moderate roasty notes from the malts in the background, hints of oak. The flavour is hoppy and distinctly bitter, with citrussy and resinous notes. Also roasty notes of coffee, some wood.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
