tons of hoppy beers on tap when we hit up the st andrews location, and pretty much all of them were fire, this is modern and awesome, among my favorites from the visit, really nice hop profile on it, distinct from the crowd, easy for its size, i loved it. freshness obviously plays a role and that is on point with this one too. hazy but not too heavy looking or feeling, maybe ever so slightly dull, but still kind of sunny colored, and holding its white head. the aroma is sweet to me, the candied side of citra, preserved lemon and lemon hard candy, with papaya and coconut notes from mosaic and talus, less of the berry thing i have known talus for in the past, but super good, no catty character at all from the mosaic, nice canned pineapple juice note, sweet, not particularly grainy for a double, and not alcoholic in the nose either. the flavor is great here, robust citrus, orange and lemon, then a sweeter middle where i do get some wheat malt and a little vanilla note, later its a bit more tropical, kiwi and melon, coconut flesh, and white wine grapes at peak ripeness, juicy and long, and it moves a lot from start to finish, really fruit forward hop profile, good carbonation and just a whisper of its strength on the swallow and at temperature. super well executed, they get a fun side of the now ubiquitous citra and mosaic combo, like this isnt all talus making it unique, and there is a lot to be said for that, nice dosages and techniques here. outstanding hazy double, way underrated on BA for my money...
