Interesting idea for a beer but not carried off as well as I had hoped !
Served on keg at Brew Dog Camden, Dec '11, into a tulip style glass
pours very dark brown to black, not much of a head on display
smells, toffee, pepper, alcohol, maybe a slight hint of chocolate
taste wise an interesting combination, peppery is the main pick for me, wasabi to me is a strong spiced mustard flavour, and I wasn't really getting this
peppery with a slightly burnt chocolate/toffee taste
the flavour improved after each mouthful and having not been particularly enamoured to start with I began to enjoy more as I got half way through the glass, and perhaps the fact the beer started to warm up slightly improved the flavour?
mouthfeel wasn't great, a bit thin perhaps, one of those beers that whilst I appreciate trying to do something different it never had me begging for the next mouthful or for another one in the future!

half pint at the Brewdog Bar in Glasgow.
pours a rish dark black with about a finger of head.
nose is a nice dark chocolate flavor with a hint of sweetness that i would lean toward the caramel side, and coffee. Wasabi is missing... smells like a strong stout to me, nothing special.
taste follows the nose with the chocolate and coffe, the sweetness is diminished and finished pretty dry and bitter. The wasabi does come out a bit on the finish, but it is not much. it does lend an interesting piece to the flavor, though.
Mouthfeel is medium, not too much, but decent enough for a bigger stout in this country.
Overall it is pretty good, and after dealing with all the real ale, and 4% crap i have had, it is a nice, and very welcome break! B+ may be influenced by the beer I have had over the last few days... so, it may be a B... but right now, I say B+ :)

Black with a light brown, foamy head that is about a fingers width and stays for a good few minutes before reducing in size to a thickish lacing.
Dark smelling beer with hints of coffee and dark, roasted malts upfront that is mixed in with a little spice too. I can also detect some caramel in there as well but the main aroma you are drawn to is the wasabi.
The wasabi is more in your face this time. There is some dark chocolate and roasted malts along with a spicy finish that is very bitter and malty. There is far too much bitterness for me here and it makes the drink a real struggle to enjoy.
Medium to full bodied with a slightly grainy feel to it in parts but it is mainly smooth. The main thing to note is the incredibly bitter finish here.
Not a particularly great beer I am afraid but certainly an unusual one as the wasabi flavouring was something new to me.
