Jet black schwarz. Aroma of black malt, mild coffee. Taste has mild coffee and chocolate, with a surprising bit of sweetness and nice balance. Nice beer ,drinks like an combo of a stout and a schwarzbuer.

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a very dark brown nearly black brew with a tiny cream colored head. The head fades very rapidly, leaving just a trace of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strongest of a roasted malt smell mixed with a bit of a caramel and some molasses. A little bit of a smoky smell as well as some aromas of char and toast are there as well, creating a rather nice roasty and dark aroma overall.
Taste – The taste begins with a nice roasty base mixed with some sweetness of a caramel and molasses sweetness. Along with these tastes comes a lighter smoke taste which increases in intensity as the taste moves forward. All the while the sweetness increases just a bit with the roastiness dropping down a little bit. In the end, the transitions of flavors ends up leaving one with a nice roasty and lightly smoked and toasted taste with a moderate level of sweetness giving a rather smooth and toasty taste overall.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is a little bit on the thinner to moderate side for a dark lager of 5.5 % with a carbonation level that is rather average. For the mix of roast, sweet and smoke the feel is rather decent making for a moderate base for an easy drinking feel but yet holding up the darker tastes rather well.
Overall – A rather decent and tasty schwarzbier overall. A good sum of roastiness and smokiness with a nice level of sweet to keep it all very easy drinking yet quite flavorful.
