my dad was rightly enamored with this one, a near perfect example of the style, incredibly clean and drinkable, classically german through and through, and about as bright as they come, i really loved this one too. i like the name too, i feel like i could be a loyal friend to this delicious brew. i dont recall carters being so impressive with lagers in the past, but this is stunning. a nice golden shine to it, good clarity, and a short white head constantly being replenished by slowly rising carbonation. there are biscuit and honey notes the the malt here, some minerality, and an essentially european vibe, but very fresh and fermented down to dry. the yeast is the next most obvious element to me, with a dry earthy complexion, a crispness imparted to the beer, and a mellow doughy aspect, still rising, really perfect with the grain here. its obvious to me how right the water chemistry is, how dialed the particulars of the brewing process are, and how patient the lagering is. the hops are kind of minimal in the flavor, but appropriately bitter and also seem exceedingly fresh to me. great pop to the feel, highly refreshing and satisfying, and of exceptional quality overall. this is really dialed in, and could have come from one of the famous german lager makers, its that good!
