This hop is rough. It's all bitterness and lacks on flavor. I've had good beers from tallgrass so I know they are accomplished Brewers that can make a tasty beer. Have to chalk it up to the hop on this one.

This hop just never does it for me. I love the tropical fruit on the nose but feel it falls short everywhere else. That being said, this has to be one of the better of this hop style.

Pours an effervescent amber with 3 fingers of ivory colored head. Stellar head retention & lacing
S: Tangerine peel , slight breadyness, a little cattyness once warm
T: Follows the nose, dryness as well, pomelo notes up front. Grassy, more pomelo, & a little bready sweetness, a kiss of pear & white grape along with leafy hops as this warms., some cattyness/mintyness as well, some woody hops as well. Finishes piney & dry & herbal with a little more pomelo
MF: Medum body, moderate carbonation, alright balance
Solid IPA, but this hop doesn't really move me

Pours a hazy, gold color. One inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of spicy hops, citrus hops, slight piney hops, hint of sweet malt, hint of alcohol, and slight resin. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with a high carbonation level. Fits the style of an American IPA. Tastes of spicy hops, citrus hops, slight piney hops, hint of sweet malt, hint of alcohol, and slight resin. Overall, too carbonated, too bitter, otherwise full-bodied, strong, but not well blended.

Poured into a snifter. A mildly hazy golden-amber color. A nice frothy, rocky off-white head that stayed with me for quite a while. The nose was interesting: tropical fruit like Juicy Fruit gum. A bit of orange and pineapple and a hint of pine needles. The fruitiness continued on the first sip: mango and pineapple, counterbalanced by some earthy tones and a restrained malt backbone. Moderately bitter with a clean, dry finish.

Drink by 03/12/17 on bottom of 16oz can. Pours a clear golden color with a massive foamy head that slowly settles to a thick cap. Oddly only a little bit of lacing is left behind. Aroma of orange, tropical fruit, and pine. I get huge amounts of tropical fruit in the flavor. Notes of pine, cedar like fruitiness, and bitter orange pith. Bitterness is high with the malt adding very little balancing sweetness. Nicely carbonated but otherwise normal body. I think this beer needed a little bit more from the malt as this IPA is just too punishing bitter. It does showcase this particular hop very well.
