I sampled this beer on a visit to the pub. This was the first usage of my fantasy football league trophy (a 2L swing top pewter handled growler!)
I poured the beer into a tulip glass and it exudes a clear chestnut hue with some ruby highlights. Aroma is toffee, banana, cloves and berries, sort of dunkelweizenish. Ave body and fine gentle rolling carbonation.
Flavor is sweet and fruity with again cloves and doughy yeast, berries and some peppery notes and bite on the finish, could be from the alcohol.
Not really any warming or heat just a bitterness that isnt hoppy. COuld also be from the yeast with the black pepper notes. I didnt catch the ABV but the beer is drinkable and tasty. Curious about the cloves and banana notes, wonder what yeast was used?
