Downtown location with diagonal street parking. Higher ceiling painted black, taupe painted walls, and a finished concrete floor. Long bar with high wood stools. Floor seating with wood tables and chairs. Windows on two sides. Expansive outdoor patio to enjoy the sun. Brewing tanks behind the bar. Five beers on tap, of standard styles, but there are twelve available taps (has beers from other breweries). Offers beers to go. Has a kitchen that offers food. Multiple TVs showing sports and a background sound system. Cordial staff. Welcoming stop when in the area for a Hoover Dam visit.

Laid back haicinda feel on the tourist old town strip. Spacious taproom with L-shaped bar that seats 12, with another 1t tables inside and outdoor patio also. Only 4 beer on tap, the 2 I had were solid. Friendly service. Tasty lunch, although on the pricey side.

Seem to always end up there every time we visit Vegas - never much of a vibe, the beers are ok. Decent place to stop after going to Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam. Certainly not like the breweries of New England, Seattle or San Diego but still better than drinking the mass produced commercial crap beers

This is a good brewpub in downtown Boulder City.

It has a small selection of beers, only a few on tap at any time and fairly standard with limited range. However, quality if above average with goo character based on what we had.

Food was excellent - excellent cheese-steak fries (wonderful), excellent burgers and sandwiches.

Service was very good and attentive.

The place itself is a weakpoint and a bit limited. The patio is nice, comfortable with a number of umbrellas but still in need of more shade in this sunny, hot climate. The inside is too limited witgh fairly little seating in a small, rather bare-bones area.

Not much selection for beer. Tried the frisky whiskey scotch ale. Tasted like a blue moon. Service was terrible. Took almost ten minutes to get menus. Food was not good either.

On business here, so had to stop in. Small, friendly, nice vibe. Patio nice at this time of year. Brew line up changes, but quality is hit or miss. Some gems in there, though....

Went out west on vacation. After a trip to the Hoover Dam, starved and dehydrated, found the Boulder Dam Brew Co. prob on a phone app. The area is no longer tourist driven and more of a local atmosphere. Felt like and probably looked like outsiders. The building from the outside looked pretty cool, nice outside seating area. Inside dining area wasn't bad. Beer was probably syrup mix stuff but not bad and something different I guess. Ordered our food from a pretty good menu. Then the bad part, my girl went to the bathroom. Returned disgusted. I forget if we visited on a weekend or after a weekend but I then went to the bathroom myself. Mother of God. Absolutely filthy. I am not an elitist snob by any means. Urine was everywhere, smelled of ammonia(from dirty old urine). Can not think of any public place I have ever gone to that was worse. I was disgusted. The actual facility wasn't bad but clearly they had a rough weekend and the cleaner called in sick or the owners use their own bathroom and have never gone inside the public one. Food arrived at table. I was apprehensive about the food because I asked myself, if the bathrooms were so nasty, what does the kitchen look like? The food looked good and we ended up having really good food. Even if the filthy bathrooms were stuck in our minds. I don't recall getting sick and when the bill came, it was very reasonable. Had the bathrooms been clean, I would highly recommend this place. I don't know if I would go back again if I were in the area.

The best part of BDMCo. is the atmosphere. It has a 1930's Hoover Dam themed decor in a small town that has a Hoover Dam theme. I now feel like I've now absorbed all the Hoover Dam I'll ever need. There are also cute little touches that make this bar seem friendly like kid's art hung above the waitress station. Aww.

What really made this a special visit for us though, was the employees and the locals who congregate at BDMCo. The bartender was incredibly friendly and when a couple of locals came in they were incredibly friendly. At some point we left to go do tourist stuff and when we came back the old locals introduced us to the new locals and we pretty much knew everyone at the bar. I felt like I had been going there for years. I like that.

All the beer is poured straight from the tank which I thought was kinda nifty. Unfortunately, the beers themselves were not that nifty and average at best (they had a 29 IBU IPA--really?). Good 16 ounce pour though, I find that in Boston 16oz usually means 12 oz. There were 6 taps in all.

The food was as average as the beer. It wasn't bad by any meas, it just didn't stand out. Queso, ranch, shredded cheese, onions and any other add-ons came in pre-sorted plastic cups which I thought was odd.

Overall I like this place. Despite average quality products I would go back on the strength of the service and friendliness of the patrons and bartenders.

Nice small pub, situated in a nice small town.

They had the extract based brewing system, from add a brew pub. Expected average beer.

We sat down, had prompt service, I ordered the IPA, my fiancee ordered a special seasonal. The IPA was average, not enough hop character for my taste, but I'm lupulined out from drinking doubles and triples. The seasonal beer on the other hand surprised me. It was based on the dreamcicle. It was a good Pale, with a nice creamy/orange taste that balanced the beer well.

The food came out quick, and was average. All in all it's a nice place to stop by for lunch, and relax a bit.

I have visited Boulder Dam Brewing 4 times in the last 2 years to explore installing the "Add a Brewpub" system to my sports bar in Colorado.

The first time the beer was very good and the bartender was friendly.

The second time, the beer was not as good and seemed that the brew time was rushed or over-modified.

The third time, the owner, that I had talked to before, acted very pompous and snobby. He was very proud of his unique recipes and brewing prowess. We stayed for only one beer and had food. The beer was lousy and the food was average. Also, the servers and bartender couldn't be pried from the local regulars who have now formed clique.

The fourth, and very LAST time that I will go to this bar was just a couple weeks ago. My son and I went in and wanted to sit at the bar. There were 5 people, (regulars) at the bar taking up all of the stools, lounging with their feet up on other stools. They could not be shamed into yielding just 2 seats. After a snotty remark from the bartender to "sit at a table", we took a tall table in the corner that had beer and crap spilled all over it, as did all of the open tables inside. There were 3 servers that were chatting among themselves and the regulars for the 10 minutes that we sat there. Never acknowledging that we were there.

We walked out and will never return.
Message to Toby and Todd (IMHO) ...Come off your high horses and fix it.

The Boulder Dam Brewery is a brewpub in downtown Boulder City. Fairly small, it has seats for perhaps 30. It seems bright and friendly; large windows overlook a large out door seating area in the front. Although the beer is served directly from 8 Brite tanks located behind the length of the bar, the brewing operation is not visible. Four year round beers are on tap as well as several seasonals. The beers are quite good and they seem to experiment with their styles. This is a wonderful oasis for desert tourists

I finally was able to hit the place since I was heading out to Arizona from Las Vegas. Easy to find too. The building is smallish, but has a bunch of tables inside and more outside. The bar holds about 12-15, and the serving tanks sit right behind the bar.

There are 6 beers on tap - hefe, stout, pale, IPA, berry wheat, and a lager. The beers were of average quality and nothing really stood out for me or the wife.

The food was typical pub grub and was decent. Beware of those that want burgers rare or medium rare - they only serve meat at medium-well.

There is a cool black & white video playing in the bar corner reviewing the history of the building of the dam. This is a nice touch here.

Made the ~1/2 hour drive from Las Vegas to Boulder City to visit this brewpub, which is right off the Nevada Highway (Rte 93) in downtown Boulder City. Street parking is plentiful in all directions.

The front has a lovely little beer garden that looked like it had a stage set for live music. It was a bit chilly the evening I visited but I can see it being a major draw in nicer weather. The interior pays homage to the Boulder Dam, with old pictures and antiques, as well as a video about the dam's construction running on a loop behind the bar. Other features of the interior include a chalkboard with the current beers, and tanks representing each beer on tap right behind the bar.

Boulder Dam has around 6 beers on draught including a seasonal. A sampler of all the brews can be had for $10. The beers run the gamut from Light to Stout, with nothing really unique in between. All of the beers are unfortunately average at best. It is especially disappointing given that they seem to have the means and the potential to make better beers.

Service on a weekday early evening was good. The bartender was knowledgeable about all the beers and happy to provide background and other area recommendations for good beer.

Food is typical pub grub. I selected the Turbine Turkey and it was a pretty good sandwich.

Overall this place is definitely worth a stop between Las Vegas and the Hoover Dam. I would not necessarily recommend making the trip just for their beer though, as you can find (marginally) better brewpubs in Vegas. However, with some spare time the other factors might make it worthwhile.

Went down here on a Saturday afternoon. When driving up, the place looked to be small but looked promising with beer garden located out front.

Went in a sat down and were promptly handed menu's. Browsed them over and chose the sample plate of their own brews. The beers in general were average. The cinquenta cerveza was refreshing, although a bit overpowering on the lime. The Hefe didn't taste all that great and IMO, didn't taste like a hefe at all. The rasberry was good, although a bit thin in body, had a weird bitterness to it, but the rasberry aftertaste was nice. The stout, amber and IPA were their bettering offerings. All the beers seemed to have a slightly off-taste and a thin-ness to them.

Food was your typical pub grub. We got the burger, which seemed to be pre-frozen, but it ended up being tasty. I ordered the brewers bratwurst. The brat was very good, but the kraut needed to be warmed.

Service was good though as they paid good attention to us. The beer garden seating area was very cool and made me feel like I was somewhere else. I'd go back again just for that.

Overall, cool little place, average beers and food and a good atmosphere. Worth checking out atleast once.

Quirky little place in downtown Boulder City. Just a small detour off the route from Las Vegas to Hoover Dam. I drove by it on accident on the way to the dam, passed by, then returned on purpose.
This is no great shakes by almost any standard. But the contrast between this and Vegas could not be greater, and I love it more for that fact. It's essentially a glorified homebrew operation. And the beers reflect it. But there's no pretension. Just a moderate-sized, open interior, sparely furnished, with plenty of dam-related paraphernalia and historical news clippings, some merch, and a big outdoor vine-draped beer garden. Sun drenched and unencumbered and simple. You won't find that on the Strip, or on Fremont St.
The beer is served straight from the fermenting tanks displayed behind the bar. Only about 4 going when I was there, but they had several that were "almost ready", so it has space for about 8 total taps. I'd be surprised if all are ever going at once.
The beer itself is somewhere between oddly endearing and amateurish. The Powder Monkey (Zwickel) Pils (again, everything is straight from the tanks and unfiltered) was off-key but interesting, but worth trying with a forward hoppiness. The hefe and Red were muddied and dull. I didn't try the Raspberry Vice (fruited wheat beer). Stout and IPA were MIA, but nearly ready...too bad. All were $4 a pints. Samplers available.
I didn't try any food, but there didn't seem there was much of a kitchen or selection. In fact, I didn't even think they had any until the server asked if we wanted some food. And we didn't. Regardless, I think your eating needs would be better served elsewhere.
Service was prompt, attentive, and friendly. I never had to leave my perch in the garden, and they didn't mind chatting a bit with local information and trivia and beer in general.
The small town rusticness epitomizes the Anti-Vegas. Don't go out of the way for the beer, but if you feel the need to escape neon and gaudiness and all things false, and you're heading to Hoover Dam, the beer garden will cure what ails you.

Cleverly hidden on Nevada Way, the main drag through town. Smallish kettle-looking storage containers behind the bar which beers were served from. They appeared to have thermometers, and although I couldn't see any CO2 lines, I couldn't tell if the beer was force-carbonated. They had around 5 beers on tap, and another 1 or 2 that weren't quite finished, they said. Friendly service and the bartender seemed knowledgeable enough. There were a number of locals, obviously frequent customers, that she spent most of the time catering to, but I don't need much. The atmosphere was nice, if a little dark during the day, but they had a lot of windows, which is nice and a little odd in the Las Vegas area (no gambling here!). The food appeared to be prepackaged and warmed before serving. The chips and queso were close to what you'd get if you'd ordered nachos from a ballpark; the mozzarella cheese sticks came from the frozen-food aisle at the grocery store; and the platter my girlfriend got was mostly Kraft cheese cubes and a couple of (literally) tasteless apple slices. The beer was among the worst I've had, unfortunately, which was the big letdown. The pilsner was orange, cloudy and hoppy; my stout was very thin and had a strange-aftertaste. All in all, not a place I'm likely to stop at again.

An easy stop if you're driving from Vegas to the Hoover Dam. The place is right on the main stretch in downtown Boulder City, a very quaint old-fashioned looking area. The steel kettles are all plainly visible right behind the bar. There's a big mural of dam construction workers, and a constantly playing video of the making of the dam. Service was good at the copper-topped bar, the bartender gave me a few little tasters before I settled on the IPA. They had 5 on tap, including the IPA, a stout, hefe, amber, and a pumpkin beer. Pints are $4, not too shabby. Didn't try the food. Overall it's a small little operation, and doesn't seem too popular; hopefully they can keep their head above water.
