Im told that the Chelsea Brewing Co. brews Westside Brewing Co.s beers to their original recipes. This gives me reason to believe that the beer I drank at the Westside, simply labeled Red Ale, is distinct from Chelseas Sunset Red and warrants a separate listing.
The Westside Red has brilliant clarity though its not entirely red it leans more towards amber. Slow rising bubbles feed a soft, tender head and fine, pervasive lace. The aroma is of garden-green hops woven to a malt backbone. ABV is unknown, but Id put it near 6.5% if I had to guess.
The taste is defined by a unique bittering profile with prominent yeasts that will either grab you or lose you. Mouthfeel is slightly chalky.
