(From notes)

A - Poured with a coppery orange hue; not bad half-finger of off-white head

S - Grapefruit and candy aroma; touch of sweet maltiness

T - Hop bitterness does come through well at first, but then followed by a fairly sweet malt backing that lent itself to a candy-like flavor to me

M - Medium MF; softish carbonation but quite alright

D - Decent, not a bad brew but just not the easiest in the style to drink

Overall, just a tad too sweet for my liking, but a not bad brew.

On tap at the Rattle N Hum East v. West IPA Festival.

Pours a rich amber with a good two fingers of white head that gradually fades to a film, but leaves some nice lace. Floral aroma, with a mix of grapefruit and pine added, and some sweet malts lurking at the back. Very solid flavour. Sweet malts underpin a good range of hop flavours, which include grapefruit, grass, floral notes and pine. Slightly spicy finish. Smooth, medium bodied mouthfeel, with a slightly oily finish.

This is a very solid IPA. While I wouldn't hunt it out, I'd be more than happy to have it again.

On tap at the Brew Pub.

Poured a darker amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas and tastes of light fruits, oranges, citrus and caramel. Medium bitter with a light sweetness to it. Light lacing left on the glass.

Recently purchased growler (filled to the very top!):

Pours amber with a pillowy white, thick head that leaves lacing.

The smell is of citrus, pine - "raw" hops. Spicy.

The taste is of pine, citrus and herbal notes with caramel backing. Bitterness mixes with a sweetish touch.

Medium-bodied with some coating.

A nice, classic interpretation of an American brewpub IPA.

Had on cask @ David Copperfields in NYC

Very well balanced IPA, with hints of citrus and tea leaf in the nose. Hop wasnt too bitter, really hit all points on the tongue. An easy drinking IPA with moderate alcohol feel. I always try to try an IPA on cask, and this one did not disappoint. Little less bitter than cheslea's hop angel to compare

Pours a clear gold amber with a crème head. Nose is nice. Good floral tones going on. Flavor has a nice bite to it. Slight salty edge with minor floral tones. Very earthy overall. Not severely complex, but still well done. Carbonation is a bit biting and the liquid body is nice. This is a nice IPA, though it's a bit sharp and acidic on the flavor. Definitely brings enough to the table to warrant a try.

On-tap at the Gingerman NYC

Nice appearance, but that's all I can really say for good qualities. I love hops, but not what's going on in here. It's hopped to the point of being perfume -like, and I don't want to drink perfume. The citrus rind flavors were just too concentrated and I found this beer difficult to drink.

Yeah...I've gotta say that I really dug this one. It pours an awesome looking copper colour with a big fluffy/pillowy head that fades somewhat quickly and leaves a trace of lace on the glass.

The smell is sweet and floral, but very malty as well. Other than that, there's not much else in terms of aromas, but what's there is good.

The flavour leans more toward malt than hop, which surprised me a bit, but the hop sweetness is indeed there and makes its presence known, there's just not that much of a bite to this one, which was fine by me as it just made for an incredibly smooth and highly tasty and drinkable IPA. The combination of the floral sweetness (a bit oily at times, even, which just added to the 'fresh' feel/quality of this one) and the bigger malt presence just makes for a fine brew as it strayed from what a typical IPA is, for the most part, but stayed simple and flavourful at the same time. Recommended.

Gotta say I really like this one. Orange gold, smells like a shrubbery or a flower shop, nice puffy head. Big bitter hop kick, tickles the throat going down, like a good scotch. Left great lacing down the glass, and great carbonation too. If you hold the beer in your mouth it feels like burning (but in a good way, like a hop-flavored Red Hot.) Almost no aftertaste, and usually I get cottonmouth (or at least an urge for water) after drinking an IPA, but this one vanished like a ghost. One of the most drinkable IPAs I've ever had!

This is my "sought" beer at Chelsea Brewing Company... it's usually the hoppiest one on tap, and hoppy beers seem to work well with the brewers' style.

What's amazing about this beer is the awesome aroma. The brewers, Mark and Chris, reveal that they stuff their homemade hopback with whole Cascade hops during runoff. As a result, this beer has a bouquet of a fresh hop garden.

In addition, the head retention is incredible. Nice lacing all the way down the glass... evidence that I'm gulping, not sipping! Remember what Mom said, "Chew your food!"

Tastes nice... the only "flaw," if you could call it one, is that I would like to see it be a little more full-bodied to go with the nice, snappy hop bite.

Overall, this is an awesome session ale. I recommend you try!

Clear dark amber / orange in color with a 1.5" head that develops some thick lacing. The aroma is tame as some faint hops and malt are detectable. The flavor is slightly stronger on the malt and fruitiness as the hops bring up the rear.

The mouthfeel was smooth with a short smooth bitter finish. This was medium bodied with decent carbonation. Nicely drinkable, but a little more hops would make this a nice brew.

A deep red IPA, with a decent off red head, this looks good. I put it to my nose, and ... nothing. I put it down, swirl it alittle, and ... nothing. I expect an IPA to have big nose, but it appears they left the aroma hops out. Oh well, I'm still gonna drink it.

Glad I did. The taste makes up for the absence of aroma. Very solid, the hops are definately there. Has a nice feel in the mouth, and goes down well. There is somewhat too much hop at the back to drink this all night, and there are better beers here.

Bright golden amber with a very healthy head retention that has some help from the excessive hops used. Stylistic mannerisms of an American IPA show hard on the taste buds with a super citric hoppiness. Mild tidals of citric rind and pungent flowers. Maltiness is there a little after the initial bitterness with some grainy cracker flavours, mildly estery with a touch of yeast also. Finishes a touch dry.

A kicker of an American IPA, kudos to the brewers for such a great brew.
