On-tap at Drop Off Service, New York, NY
A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a short tan head that eventually completely faded away.
S: Faint aromas of bourbon are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of dark malts with some hints of bourbon and sweetness. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a low to moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink but the smell and taste are very weak for a stout, let alone a bourbon barrel aged stout. I had an English Dark Mild Ale right before this and it was actually more flavorful.

The color is dark black with no head.
The smell is of oak, roast, a bit vanilla.
The taste is just weird. It has this strong bitterness. There's surely an off taste in there. I compared it to cigarette ashes.
There is no carbonation what so ever. It makes the beer so flat and watery. It literally just flies off the tongue and is very bad.
I hated this.

Chelsea Bourbon Barrel Aged Black Hole Stout, on tap at Pony Bar and served in a 14-oz pint. Let's see how my local brewery ages their stuff!
Appearance: Comes with barely a mantle of coffee-colored head that almost immediately dies, leaving some lacing. Color is an attractive oily black with auburn touches.
Smell: Very opaque. Some oak and petrol. Smooth roastiness, maybe a hint of coffee. Wood, but no bourbon. Disappointing.
Taste: The bitter hoppiness assaults you right away, and I love that. Then coffee, a hint of booze and barrel and some lip-smacking dryness. Nice for a stout, but not so much for a barrel-aged brew.
Mouthfeel: Almost full-bodied and rich, warming. Well-rounded in this department, and not too dry too boot. Nice dry-hoppy feel in the lips as it goes down. Just slightly watery around the mouth, but otherwise fine.
Overall: For Chelsea, not bad at all- I enjoyed drinking this. But really, barreling should turn out better/bigger than this. Feels more like oak chips tossed in the kettle instead of a full-blown bourbon barrel. Still, tasty and drinkable.
