Served On-Tap, 10.5oz Schooner Glass
A — This pours a richly dark brown hue into the glass, nearly black, but not quite. There is a little puffy light-brown colored head on-top of the beer. Fades slowly, and leaves behind some super consistent and slightly sticky lacing.
S — Smells of nicely roasted chocolate malts and sugars, lots of light char and coffee, bit of chocolate and nuttiness. Really nice without being overly sweet.
T — Taste is great here, fairly light, but there are great roasted malt notes, as well as some light coffee, chocolate, little bit of nuttiness and a bit of a piney bitterness to help round things out.
M — Light-Medium bodied, there is a nice balanced carbonation level here. Really nice overall.
O — This was better than expected, HUB does know their way around a dark beer though, this is a almost like a lighter and less coffee forward version of Survival Stout, very nice and accomplished overall.
