On tap at 16 tons taphouse the other day.
According to the Hopworks Facebook page, this is essentially the bourbon barrel aged Motherland RIS, but with chocolate and cherries added. You certainly can't accuse HUB of false advertising, as both on the nose and on the palate, there is a considerable cherry and (to a lesser extent) chocolate presence. There's still plenty of coffee and vanilla as well, but the cherry chocolate aroma and flavor really seemed to mute the bourbon character. Mouthfeel is fairly full, but the beer didn't seem to impart the level of richness I was expecting in this beer (can't recall now, but I think the abv. was in the 11% range). Alcohol is certainly well integrated into the flavor profile, and this is certainly a very easy beer to drink.
Excellent beer, and perhaps one that will improve even more over time. Very glad to have the opportunity to try this one.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
