I guess this is an updated version of their flagship under ipa, but under a new name?

Pours golden into light amber, 1/2" white head. Familiar throwback aroma even if under a new recipe, I still get plenty of Simcoe, Centennial, Chinook, Cascade and Amarillo like notes here. I would venture a guess that there is a smidge of either Mosaic, Citra or Strata in this new recipe, leaning towards Citra, but it only holds a minority stake in the company.

Taste is more of the familiar, you get that familiar tag team off the rope combo of pine and grapefruit rind, but it brings a little more in terms of sweeter citrus and a hint of fuzzy stone fruit. Still might be a bit more crystal malt than you see these days. Its a hint sweeter and less malty and bitter than its predecessor, but still sticky. Even as a lot of breweries and people from this region continue to emulate and adapt to be the next bay area, they still hold onto old habits like the malty high ibu crystal malt ipas. Its good, but not all that different from what it purports to replace. Sure that one might be rated higher, but them old reviews are weighed against that time in mind.

i have been seeing more and more beers from these guys around boise lately, both in package and on tap, which is a welcome sight, more diversity around here is a good thing! this is a nice ipa, a touch sweet, but it never seems malty in the taste, which is sort of an odd sensation for one of these, but true nevertheless. almost clear in the glass from the tap, an inch of airy off white head rests on it, lots of bubbles, and a lightness to it overall for the slightly brassy color, deeper than golden for sure. the hops are a little nonspecific in the aroma and flavor for me, fresh and delicious sure, but i cant identify a varietal. its got some light stone fruit notes to it, some lemongrass too, and the light sweetness carries the hops well, really low bitterness, but this isnt a juicy type or too new school, its just mellow, almost more of a pale ale than an ipa as i drink it. i also get a curious almost berry taste to it, strawberries even, possibly from the hops, really interesting here and seemingly extended by the sweetness. it drinks smooth and round, suggesting wheat in the mash, and the fermentation profile is none at all, its tidy as can be. its lively feeling, obviously fresh, and quite well made, even if its a little generic. tasty beer, props for being organic too, glad to have these guys around a little more all of a sudden!

Very typical of a sticky syrupy west coast double with surprisingly lower weight. This is also standard of HUB, decent head actually hazy (not murky) just slightly less filtered, a hair soapy on the nose. Many many breweries figured out this basic formula which worked for a time for some, never for me. Sticky hands and others have a far tastier less overbearing way of presenting the style with good hop flavors and less redundancy. Eh, it's a beautiful can.

Hazy gold with three fingers of bone color head. Swathes and rings of lace as the level drops.
Smell is malty and floral hops.
Taste is bread crust malts with floral light pine hops.
Mouthfeel is light to medium with good carbonation. Finish is lightly dry and balanced.
Overall a fine IPA. Easy drinking and pleasant.

Poured two 12 oz cans into a chilled glass mug. Deep orange colour and an off white head. Smells of piney hops and a little fruity with some biscuits. Taste very smooth with pleasant aftertaste and mouthfeel. Very similar to this brewery's standard IPA but this one is organic, and I'm not really sure what that even means. Text me if anyone knows. Prost!
