22oz bottle poured into a La Fin du Monde tulip
P- hazy light orange w/ a small foamy white head; quick recession
n- med-bold; smells amazing- melon, tangerine, milk sugar; spice and resin; very inviting
t- sweet biscuity wheat malt carries melon (fresh honeydew) and orange/tangerine notes; milk sugar; a touch of leafiness and spice (from the simcoe hops) in the finish; not quite as robust the nose lets on, but pretty tasty nonetheless
mf- med-full bodied; med carb level; a bit chewy
o- pretty solid, overall; outstanding nose for sure; would have this again

Was excited to try this one. Being a Pacific North-westerner, I don't get to try many out-of-region IPAs. Pours a hazy, orange juicy, honey-gold. Not much on the nose, very subtle aroma. It is called a New England IPA and categorized as an American IPA. Seems like the word "Imperial" needs to be in there, at 8.5% booze. The Calypso and Azacca hops are the real treat here, a little too citrusy over all for my taste, but smooth and not too bitter. In fact, its a tad too sweet, and is one of the few beers to which I would apply the word "chewy." The taste is the standout characteristic. Probably won't get another (it leaves the corners of my mouth slightly sticky) but I!m glad I tried it. If they could make it a little dryer they may have a big winner.

all organic . . . not the greatest attempt at a NEIPA, for sure, but drinkable. No 1 suggests other varieties are coming, i imagine; which is a good thing. it can lead to all kinds of confusion among drunk BA'ers and Untappd'ers all across the country.... BUT, at least they have a shot of redeeming themselves with a better one!
