Venn Diagram pours opaque orange. Proper hefeweizen opaque, not milkshake style. It's a nice shade right there in between bright yellow and light orange. Meringue sits on top. Extra fluffy white foam, and it takes for ever to fall back into it, leaving a solid smooth surface coverage and patches of lace everywhere.
Certainly on the citrus side. This thing explodes with tangerine, fresh orange zest, and lemon. There are subtle amounts of mango and pine residing underneath.
And yet the flavor is much less on the citrus side than expected. More mango and guava like, blended with sweet orange, unripened cantaloupe, and flat lemon-lime soda. Not even getting the pine, yet the faintest touch of black licorice comes through, especially as it warms.. Weird.
The feel is surprisingly softer than I was expecting as well. It smooth and doesn't seem to have much carbonation at all considering it's impressive appearance. It doesn't seem bitter, but balanced, maybe even a tad on the sweet side. It's 8.8 abv is almost unnoticeable until it warms a bit.
Hmmm. I don't know what to say, overall. It's good! I'd be glad to try it again. Pretty unique, and like an M. Night Shyamalan movie, this had quite the twist. Looks like a hefe, smells like a citrusy IPA, tastes like a fruit smoothie, and feels like an NEIPA. Cheers.
