Pitch black but very clean looking, with an espresso like foamy dark tanned head that provides moderate lacing.
Bold dark roast coffee and bitter bakers chocolate aromas dominate over some dirty and metallic notes.
Flavor follows with chocolate competing for supremacy over the coffee and burnt toast. Again, a mineral-water like metallic flavor comes through.
A little watery feeling despite the creamy start, which can be appropriate in an English style Porter. Balance favors a roasty bitterness, and overall this is very easy to consume.
Another good offering from the ever consistent and dependable HUB. Glad I grabbed a four pack, and I'll probably snag another.
Cheers.

Poured aggresively into a nonic pint. Very dark, almost black - no light passes except at the edge. Nose is coffee, coffee and coffee. Did I mention it smells like coffee? Taste is very porter-like, not heavy, rather dry. Roasted malt and caramel notes, very light bitterness. We go to the Hub loacations for food and drink and missed this one. Glad to get it in cans. Brewed and canned in early Nov '18 so may be hard to find by now (late Jan '19). Here's hoping they bring it back sometime in like or similar form.
