One thing is for sure, HUB has a real knack when it comes to making well hopped beers. Hopefully, they will make this beer more then just once, as it's absolutely delicious.
The beer pours a typical light peachy IPA color, with very good, creamy head and excellent lacing. On the nose one again gets the archtypical blast of orange citrus and pine. This a huge, well hopped IPA, with nuances of vanilla from the wood. On the palate this beer is delicious. What I wouldn't give to be able to drink this all the time. The beer almost tastes like a blend of the HUB red and IPA, but with a bit more hops I think. There is a lot of citrus from the dry hops on the palate, but the barrel aging gives the beer a very soft, light creamy mouthfeel that is terrific. I don't know the abv., but would guess it's in the 7% or 8% range. Enough for you to konw it's there, but not so much that it knocks you off your feet. However, this beer carries its alcohol very well, with a long finish that just begs for another sip. Incredibly drinkable. This would be my IPA of choice through the holidays were it only available on a regular basis (perhaps it will be).
An outstanding effort from the folks at HUB.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
